As a typical Finnish man, I used to have biased feelings towards the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC), thinking it was a hollow shell without spirit or compassion. But the ROC has repeatedly shown mercy and support in its words and deeds.
I stopped paying taxes to the Finnish Lutheran Church on 27 October 2011. On 30 October, I will be confirmed in the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) at the St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Helsinki.
