‘Rights champions’ should confess their sins (RT 01 December 2011)

Published: Russia Today, 01 December, 2011, 13:37

At Sunday service, it struck me that extremist groups, insincere human rights activists and the world's “militant police", who violently seize power and support revolutions using weapons and information warfare, should sometimes attend a real religious service, where they would have to confess their sins in private and listen to the gospel.

The sanity, charm and slogans of the “human rights activists” can be a mask; these features make them the perfect wolves in sheep’s clothing. The activists tend to be great conversationalists, but their external mask of purity doesn’t imply honest motivation.

They very rarely – hardly ever – confess their sins before God. Tolstoy called for honest self-assessment: “Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself”.
